Charlotte was a guest speaker at the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service ‘Proud to Provide’ conference. The theme of the conference was intersectionality, aiming to raise awareness in the public sector about inclusion of people with multiple identities.

Charlotte said:

"It was a real privilege to speak speak at the Proud to Provide Conference.

Since taking office I have seen the amazing work that Cheshire Fire do not only in keeping our community safe, but in ensuring that all their employees can bring their whole selves to work- something they have been recognised by Stonewall for as being one of the country's leading LGBT+ friendly employers.

There’s still more that all organisations can do to become more LGBT+ inclusive and I will be working closely with Cheshire Fire and Rescue service in my new role as Shadow Minister for Women & Equalities in order that they can share that best practice across the country.

As an LGBT parliamentarian myself, I look forward to joining them at Pride parades across Warrington and Cheshire in their famous rainbow engine in years to come!"
