On Love Unions Week I am reaffirming my support for the Union Learning Fund and calling on the Government not to scrap it.

The Union Learning Fund is a programme that provides educational courses to workers across the country.

Its value is clear. It has the support of many local councils, large employers and across the political spectrum, including majority-Conservative Education Select Committee.

As such, it is clear that the Government is doing this for no other reason than political spite. But workers deserve better.
