Warrington North Christmas Gift Guide

This year has been an extremely tough one for all of us, with local businesses taking a significant hit as a result. That’s why, this Christmas, I’m encouraging everyone to shop local when buying their Christmas presents. Local businesses in Warrington have a fantastic range of gifts that can brighten up somebody’s Christmas whilst helping our local economy too. So I thought I’d put together a list- but by no means an exhaustive one- of some of the Christmas presents you can buy locally.

There’s a great range of independent businesses throughout Warrington North, from the Dam Lane precinct and Rixton Village to Orford Lane and Norris Street. There’s Poplars Avenue, the CPS Shopping Centre in Culcheth and so many others across our town. Here’s a list of a few of them!

Beauty:

If you’ve got somewhere that you like to go to get your hair or nails done then why not buy a voucher for a friend at a local beauty store! Two of my favourites are Bamboo in Woolston and Kathryn Elizabeth Hair and Beauty on Padgate Lane

Beverages:

If ale is your thing, Coach House Brewery have some award-winning ales. And if you’re into beer, The Twisted Wheel Brewing Company started just over a year ago and launched a brilliant range of 7 new beers in April 2020.

Charity Shops:

There is also a brilliant range of charity shops in Warrington North, including: Barnardo’s, St Rocco’s Hospice, Roy Castle Foundation, St Barnabas, Cats Protection and Mencap.

Christmas Day:

If you’re looking for meat for the big day then Shaws Butchers on Orford Lane can do the trick! Then if you want to add veg, then Winwick Farm Shop can help with that- as well as selling logs and coal- from locally felled trees- to add to that seasonal feel!

Christmas Decorations:

The Christmas Market at Bents Garden Centre is just superb, with everything from Christmas Trees to lights and decorations.

A brilliant young man Jacob Cannell, from Birchwood, has set up Jake’s Makes/a> which sells some gorgeous wreaths for the festive period.

Restaurants:

Other Ways To Help:

There are also other great ways to help local businesses at this time. First, on social media, you can follow local businesses and like and share their posts with your friends and followers. You can also leave a positive review about a local business on social media or on the internet. Or you could tell family and friends about a local business that you like!

If you’d like your independent business added to the list- please email [email protected]

Merry Christmas!
