Towns Fund For Warrington

Warrington has received £22 million as part of the Towns Fund. The funding will help to support a wide range of exciting projects, including the creation of a Health and Social Care Academy, an Electric Bus Fleet Depot and a Construction Training Centre.

I am delighted that Warrington has received this funding. As part of the Town Deal Board, I’d like to pay tribute to the work of all involved- including Warrington Borough Council- in putting the bid together and I am very pleased that the Government has responded positively.

But there is still more to do to get a fair deal for Warrington and ensure that we are not ‘levelled down’ because of Coronavirus. This important funding must be supplemented by a commitment further support in the future as well as supporting the creation of the next generation of new nuclear jobs like Sizewell C and delivering a Cheshire devolution deal. I will continue to work with all stakeholders to achieve this.
