Since 2010 the Conservatives have cut 11,237 firefighters' jobs.

As a result of the severe reduction to the block grant for Fire Authorities, the number of fire appliances has also been drastically cut.

Therefore Charlotte has signed up in support of the Fire Brigades Union campaign to #FundTheFrontLine.

Charlotte said:

This Tory Government’s record on the Fire & Rescue Service is abysmal and that is why I am backing this crucial campaign from the FBU.

Austerity inflicted on Fire & Rescue Services has inevitably led to an assault on hard fought for terms and conditions for firefighters whether they’ve been in post for 25 years or a couple of months.
