3rd September 2020Charlotte and Louise Haigh MP visit the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation
3rd September 2020Over the parliamentary recess, Charlotte visited 5 year old Aneeshwar Kunchala from Westbrook who has raised nearly £4,000 to support the NHS and India’s Covid relief effort.
Aneeshwar was curious after seeing Sir Tom Moore doing his walk for NHS charities, and decided he also wanted to help contribute, which he has done through two separate challenges.
Aneeshwar decided to learn cricket and do a ’10 days 1000 hits’ challenge from the safety of his own garden to raise money for the NHS.
After gaining a lot of interest in the first challenge, the ‘Little pedallers’ challenge was born, 57 other children ended up taking part. The challenge saw the children cycle around 4,500km, Aneeshwar cycled roughly 5-7km a day.
Charlotte said:
“It was lovely to meet Aneeshwar, who is an inspirational little boy. He wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up, and after spending time with him this afternoon I’ve got no doubt that he’ll be able to achieve anything he puts his mind to. I’m proud to be his MP! What a little superstar.”
