In a Parliamentary debate on 'Courts and Tribunals: Recovery' Charlotte asked the Lord Chancellor for an equality impact assessment on the impact of trial delays. Figures from HM Courts and Tribunals show that a disproportionately large number of cracked trials in the courts are because of late guilty pleas.

Charlotte said:

"This is a particular issue in cases of domestic and sexual violence where victims are overwhelmingly women. The Government must provide an equality impact assessment on the impact of trial delays and I will continue to engage with the Lord Chancellor on this issue in the near future."
