As a member of the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, Charlotte received a briefing from Standing Joint Command on the military support for civilian authorities as part of the pandemic response, through Operation Rescript.

Operation Rescript began in March 2020 and is the military operation for the armed forces during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charlotte said:

"I want to thank the thousands of troops deployed from our armed forces for their incredible support in helping our country face the challenge of Coronavirus- whether it is establishing testing centres and the mass testing trial in Liverpool, building the Nightingale hospitals, in planning and procurement, or in strategic operations working alongside the various government departments.

This work continues, not least with the next challenge of the concurrency of mass testing and vaccine delivery to meet- and I have every confidence that they will work tirelessly to achieve this."
